JOHOR BARU, Nov 21 – The detention of six members of the Kota Tinggi Umno division youth wing on Friday shows that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission does not favour any party in carrying out its duty, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said today.
This was contrary to claims by many parties, especially the opposition parties, that the commission always favoured the governing political parties, he told reporters after opening the Regency Specialist Hospital in Seri Alam, Masai.
Abdul Ghani, who is also Johor Umno Liasion chief, said Kota Tinggi Umno division chief Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar had not briefed him on the matter.
At this point he said, the Johor Umno would leave it to the commission to investigate the case.
The six were alleged to have attempted to bribe three of the division's 18 youth committee members who quit last Sunday following a loss of confidence in the youth chief's leadership.
It is believed that the mass resignations prompted the suspects to “negotiate” with a former youth wing committee member to prevent an election for the wing.
The six, aged between 30 and 40, were picked up about 2am, at the committee member’s house after allegedly trying to coax him to withdraw his resignation by offering him RM40,000. – Bernama

It is not a gift from MACC to the people.
How on earth does such low quality and incapable people get selected to such crucial positions?
Their thinking and reasoning is so shallow and immature, it would have been funny had it not been for the unfortunate fact that it is Malaysia that these guys are screwing up!
It is understandable that there is a dearth of good people in UMNO/BN but there cannot be such a dearth of good and honorable people in Malaysia.

These are just 'sacrificial lamb' for the show. MACC itself is corrupt, headed by a man who condones child pornography, Datuk Ahmad Said.

As an MB, we expect something of more and greater substance to come out from him if he wants to protect the MACC who are little diffirent from the corrupt UMNO politicians. Ghani is going down K Toyol's way.

These six goons are not even ikan bilis.....it goes toshow that MACC just want to show that it is impartial.
Why not go for real government crooks...like those RM 500 million commissions for the purchase of sub-marines, and jets, PKPZ scandals, etc etc

If Lingam and the few judges are not persecuted for corruption nothing you do is going to make the Rakyat change their mind. Too many illegally practices and abuses have been committed for too long for few people to change their perception about you, umno/bn
