It reflects the character of this Foreign Minister Datuk Anifah Aman, to me he is a big liar, how could your counter part US secretary of state Hillary Clinton called you that time, you were not even appointed as our foreign minister yet that time, you only appointed three days later after Najib sworn in. How could Hillary knew ahead you are going to be her counter part. If you said Hillary Clinton called up our former foreign minister may be we can accepted it. This also make us wonder how true is it, as you coded DSAI did offered you as DPM if you were defected to PR, can you words be trusted ah?!

Hahahahahaha. Anifah, you are really a REAL JOKER and CLOWN. The cause for the late congratulatory message was Obama had a very busy schedule over the last 44 days. Is this a fact or lie? Who is going to counter this statement?

President Obama warmly congratulated India on it's national elections even before the final results are in but why did President Obama want to wait for more 40 days to congratulate Najib as Malaysia's new premier? Surely Obama should accord this same privilege to Malaysia but he did not. And Anifah is making excuses for the President of the United States of America that he is too busy to do so? Or is he choking in his own excuses without truthfully informing Malaysians that Malaysia is far below the favoured status we once enjoyed with the US of A because of the government's brutal treatment of dissent and human rights record to name a few? You sure are a no brainer, Anifah.

Obama busy? Sure he is very busy, but they do not forget, period. Hello, you are talking about the USA, the 1st world, superpower nation on the planet earth, not a small little country somewhere in the bush or jungle or some corner of the earth. You mean their State Department and Administration or their Malaysian ambassador are so inefficient or forgetful as well. Read between the lines. You can bet their intelligence services knows lots of stories about what's going on here...even the submarines deals.

Hanifa was appointed FM more than a week after Najib became PM. Which meant the call was made after 1 week....if there was a called immediately upon Hanifa's appointment. Compare this to India's Manoham Singh of Congress Party who received a congratulatory even before vote counting is completed.

This is how US viewed Malaysia....tainted democracy.

Malaysia is such low down on Obama's priority list, I'm surprised he even cared to congratulate Najib over the phone. Anyway, it's to everyone's knowledge that he'll be the next PM as there's no democracy involved in the selection of the PM of Malaysia. Everything's done behind closed doors! Such appointments deserves no congratulations in my point of view.

To be perfectly honest, who gives a crap about Najib anyway? Maybe his cronies?

1. Anifah, it is your job to know why? Dun say you don't know. YOu may not want to tell but your job is to know.
2. Secondly, you have just disgraced the country more by claiming that you are being offered positions and that some people are less democratic la. As a diplomat, the intent of THAT press conference is to talk about MY and US. If you want to get the pack of foreign journalists, call for another. That is courtesy.
3. The Star wrote today that Obama "applouds" Najib's appointment. How low can you guys get?
It is a diplomatic snub and the media wants to spin it.

The different is that Najib's PM post is hand down hereditary within party. He wasn't vote in as Obama did. Najib is considered PM of UMNO, not Malaysian.
Of course, he has gotten less respected by Obama. Suddenly, after over 40 days, a man came over to tell him through his secretary, that he had forgot to congratulate Malaysian new PM. After hearing it, he sent his late congratulation letter over to Malaysia immediately. But it is after 44 days. Better than nothing. Since our man had explained that Obama was busy. He might not think to capture who was he. Accidentally Obama missed out of Najib.

In 1998, the Indonesian President-elect HABIBIE chided the Prime Minister of Singapore for lack of sincerity for sending its congratulatory message 3 (THREE) DAYS late. BY the standard set by Mr Habibie, I think our PRIME MINISTER should have sent a war plane to demand for apology from Mr.Obama for not sending his MUCH SOUGHT AFTER message in time.

Anifah has gone to USA for no apparent reasons .In fact i suspect that this Anifah was sent to prester for one from Obama .Finally, Anifah could present this ego -boosting congratulatory message to pm to claim a big credit .Could he be going for DPM? What is a minister doing trying to second or, even perhaps, third guess what Obama, or just anybody else for that matter, does or does not do? Doesn't the minister have anything urgent and important to do?

Is Anifah first duty to look into the "congratulatory oversight" from the ever important and powerful office of the President of the USA? Perhaps it makes one feels good and that it's better late than never?

If Malaysia under Najib's leadership commands international recognition it deserves, nothing would be so busy for the State Department of the US to convey President Obama's congratulatory message as expeditiously as Najib's appointment is announced.

The fact it took 44 days after the Najib's appointment to send the message is surely a measure of our low standing among the international community.
