As an asemblymen responsible for the siamese community, the most pressing needs for Lim is to champion for more temples in Kedah. Lets multiculturise and mordenise kedah in the same way Selangor is. PAS is now more open and their Ulamas and Tok Gurus would not object to temple proliferation, and of course, beers. The rakyat is urging Lim to capaitalise on newly emerging PAS's hospitality.

Referring to Bluemoon's comment above, most Siamese are Buddhists. As a devoted Buddhist myself, I do not see the need to have a "proliferation of temples" and I definitely object to the widespread and irresponsible consumption of beer. More temples does not mean being more religious. Buddhism advocates the purification of the mind and the teachings of the Dhamma can be obtained anywhere these days, even over the Internet, such that the "proliferation of temples" is never a necessity. It is a waste of funds which could be channeled to meaningful programs to help the poor and small businesses. Regarding beer, I don't see what connection that has to do with the Siamese community and surely it is insulting to even associate them with it and moreover, it has nothing to do with modernisation and being multicultural. It is insulting to associate beer with anyone who is non-Muslim.
