KANGAR, Oct 27 – The Perlis Menteri Besar's Office today lodged a police report over a slanderous report appearing on the website which stated that the Mentri Besar's mother, the late Mahasa Jusoh, had died last month, purportedly due to AIDS and HIV.
The Perlis Menteri Besar's Political Secretary, Azali Abas, who was accompanied by several senior officials from the Menteri Besar's Office, made the report at the Kangar Police Station, here today.
Speaking to reporters after lodging the report, Azali said it was made to clear the name of the Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu, whose elderly mother died on Sept 21 of natural causes.
He claimed that on Oct 21, a website had carried the story on the death of the Menteri Besar's mother by amending the words “sakit tua” to “AIDS/HIV” to the extent that it had caused uneasiness among the public.
Meanwhile, Dr Md Isa when met here today said the report had slandered him. – Bernama
