KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — October is shaping up to be make or break month for the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition.
PKR is fraying at the seams with Jeffrey Kitingan and his allies in Sabah parting ways with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s party.
The constant speculation over the future of PKR secretary-general Datuk Sallehuddin Hashim also adds to the impression that the party is not on a firm footing.
And the troubles surrounding PAS were the last thing the coalition needed.
Last night, PAS leaders averted the possibility of a potentially damaging EGM called by its spiritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat to remove what he described as “problematic leaders” who were not entirely committed to PR.
The party’s central committee promised to set up a disciplinary investigation into the problems the party is facing in Selangor.
And party leaders declared, yet again, that PAS was committed to the PR coalition.
But the public will still need some convincing on PAS’s direction.
And realistically the PR coalition cannot survive without PAS.
This is because without the structure and support base of PAS it will be hard for the coalition to move ahead with its ambitions of snaring Putrajaya from Barisan Nasional (BN).
While DAP remains relatively stable, PKR remains the weak link in the PR coalition despite the fact that it has the most elected representatives of the three partners.
Instead of addressing its problems PKR leaders appear to be still in denial mode and this was epitomised by remarks made yesterday by its political bureau member Tian Chua.
Chua blamed the media for various “confusing reports” over speculation about Sallehuddin’s apparent resignation.
But it has already become an open secret that Sallehuddin is unhappy with the party. And his resignation could well be a matter of when and not if.
In PKR there appears to be less fear and respect now for Anwar.
That is why Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and others are willing to go their own way and are questioning some of Anwar’s positions, strategies and appointments.
Zaid, who was sacked from Umno and joined PKR amid some fanfare, had been given the job of formulating a common platform for the three-party coalition.
But the recent flap over his wish to visit Sabah and Sarawak amid an open revolt in the two states caused him to announce his six-month leave from party political work.
What is happening in PKR appears to be a result of its own unwillingness to confront problems early on and effectively.
Even some of Anwar’s and PR’s biggest supporters among the network of Internet bloggers who helped galvanise support for the opposition during Election 2008 appear to be growing disillusioned.
While many of these pro-PR bloggers still express commitment to the opposition coalition, some of them are questioning Anwar’s leadership.
Prominent blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin wrote yesterday of Anwar going into “self-destruct mode.”
“Anwar Ibrahim and many of the opposition leaders have this false feeling of grandeur… but are not grand and certainly far from great.
“They did not make March 2008 happen. The people made it happen. And what the people make the people can break. And the people are of the opinion that the opposition leaders, Anwar included, have lost their direction.”

When Pakatan falls, it's their blunder for not being able to pull things together. However, it is the PEOPLE who supported Pakatan who must be praised, for without these people who want change, there wouldn't be Pakatan, and BN would still be resting on their laurels.
So to Pakatan, I take my hat off to you for creating that little impact to wake up the sleeping giant.

PKR must get its own house in order and PAS show us your real face. So far DAP is proving to be the most steadfast of the 3. PR is bigger than Anwar, LKS and Hadi.

Snap out of denial, Tian Chua/PKR!

I do not know what these guys are doing. They are not much difference from BN, BN blame the press for their problem. the "pendatang" war cry and now we have PR singing from the same song sheet. It seems these guys just do not not know how to handle the press.
They seems to put their nose into every grass root issues. Why don't they let the Sabah and saeawak grass root elect their rep. Why chose a leader over them. Again they are not much different from BN.

PAS is very theologian in their style which emphasize more on the human development according to Islamic prescription. In a poor state like Kelantan where people are poor whether they are under BN or PAS this style is acceptable. Progress can be tackle slowly and not on grand scale.
The PKR style is just about similar to UMNO's style only with more added power to the non Malays because many PKR representatives who won elections are the non Malays. The Malays in PKR felt sidelined and cannot continue with their UMNO's style.
The DAP is tasting power to rule for the first time and they are lucky that they get to replace Gerakan which was rejected by the Penang Chinese. Unlike Gerakan the central government under UMNO could not disturb them because they are not under UMNO's partronage. They only have to give a little bit of face is to Anwar Ibrahim because Penang is his home state.
The real challenge left is how PAS handle Kedah. Kedah is in the middle. PAS support base is only in the north while the south is more multi racial and the demographic is very similar to Penang. Luckily for PAS in Kedah is that the non Malays in Kedah adapt quite well to the Malay culture and rule and likewise the Kedah Malays are quite accomodating to the non Malays. The trust between the races is almost the same as in Kelantan. The PR must give support to the Kedah administration because this could be the model for future PR style in Malaysia if ever they are going to take over Putrajaya.
The other plus point for Kelantan and Kedah is that both have their own state civil services which are not hostile to the PR government.

DSAI, let this leaders go, be it Jeffery Kitingan or Christina, they have no principles in politics and purely for personal agenda, move on and get the right leaders, they can bring some members away but don't forget it is not this group that vote PR into the goverment, it is the "RAKYATS" that wants the change.
See how Jeffery Kitingan fails in many attempts.
Let the Sabah and Sarawak people decides the new PKR leaders and who shall lead, they know well enough, politicain can be very clever, smart and tactical but if they can't lead but wants to be the leader, then if PR listen to them, then doomsday are ahead of PKR.
It is better to act now then to be late

As far as Anwar is concerned, we have seen how resilient he has been, despite being thrown into jail and the bashing he got from Mahathir, Khairy, Nazri and everybody else even when he was not around.
If anything, the timing of the current "troubles" are just right. It provides PKR and PAS a much need opportunity to flush out their problems out into the open and yet still give them time to take remedial measures before PRU 13. The scenario would be much worse if these problems surface just 6 months before the elections.
Take Jeffry Kitingan. His action is no loss to PKR. This guy is a born loser. Jeffry is putting up tantrums just to be state chief.
Kitingan can only effectively bargain and negotiate IF he had 25 YBs under him, not ketua bahagians, but that can only be known AFTER the elections. For all we know, with his political record, he might himself not even win should he stand. So, it is only right that he should just be ignored.
Also, with Baru Bian heading Sarawak PKR and Kitingan heading Sabah, BN would have a field day and say tha PKR do not want Muslim leaders. This would be very unfortunate (but that is the reality of politics) since ANY capable Sabahan or Sarawakian should be able to lead in either state, irrespective of background.
Quite often, in politics, certain decisions are better left to the leaders. If leaders try to please everybody, they will end up like Pak Lah and get nothing done.
One visible difference between PAS and PKR is that PAS leaders seem to be more in command of their problems than PKR. PAS leaders sense something is not right, move quickly, and come out with a response before their problems become unmanageable.
In the end, Pakatan should still be able to hold on together despite the hiccups, but the spirit of give and take and cooperation would need to filter down to the rank and file. The Pakatan gathering in December should be able to address some of these problems.

PKR, PAS & DAP is facing its house cleaning period. This is normal and nothing to afraid of. At least, they are more transparent than UMNO & other BN parties. Tell me, which political parties in Malaysia are perfect and has no infighting. UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP all have their own internal problem.
So, this is not something new and normal in running an organization. But one thing for sure, PR parties are more honest and people oriented than BN parties. Even if PKR could manage to sort this problem out, come next generation of parti leaders, new problem will arise.... PKR is a party for next generation, not tody!

Why about PAP then? What happens after Lee Hsien Loong is gone? Malaysia Insider.......Frankly, I don't see any good leader replacing Lee Hsien Loong. All 3rd generation leaders are pretty old right now. Whither PAP again?

The Sarawakians and Sabahans should be given the full right to choose or elect their own PR leaders if PR is really serious of winning them at GE13. PR top leaders must be willing to turn their ears to the peoples' (your supporters) voice and opinion because they are the one that holds the vote and your future politic future.
We are willing to vote for any parties that battle for racial harmony and unity, that expunge bribes, that restore our law and judiciary system. We are here to vote for any parties that can be trusted, that look into the needs of the public safety, that think more into the life and wellbeing of the people, that care about our safety at our home, our work place, our schools, our shopping malls...that think about the future of our younger generation...!
PR had gained the people's trust shown in the GE12, you should keep it up...and we are still here, standing right behind you to offer our undivided support for you if you still need us. But, if BN is improving and proves to be the one that we are looking for, do you ever thought that the people will not support them?
We are observing...if you can handle and solve your internal matters well especially PR leadership which seethes now, if you are still trustworthy. Human being are created changeable like most politicians in the past. If PR change, we will change as well, if BN change that will change us too. Your changes will determine in what way will the people change...to fight with u in your strive to topple BN...let say to Putrajaya at GE13, or to flight to the other camp.
I hate to say...that we are ashamed to be called Malaysian under current government. We want drastic and positive changes to our beloved country Malaysia. Restore the damaged image or our country for the sake of all of us...Malaysian.

Power has, and is always an obsession among the hierarchy of any group. However, the leader must be firm, fair and collective and be seen to be able to lead his/her pack without fear or favour. Problems and misunderstandings are inevitable and can only be resolved with cool heads. Autocratic leaders will incur the wrath of his/her followers.
PKR have the right people to lead the coalition in the right direction. However, there seems to be a sort of "mutiny" within the ranks. Now is the time for DSAI to stand up and be counted and show his leadership qualities to resolve whatever problems that exist within the coalition. Charisma is not enough to form a cohesive unit within the ranks. PKR should stop the unnecessary bikering and there must be a proper SOP in place to vet each candidate who aspires to become a member. DSAI and party leaders should never allow dissent to exist within the ranks.
PKR did not win seats in GE0308 on their own steam. Most definately not. It was UMNO/BN who helped PKR. And of course the rakyat. The rakyat were sick and tired and fedup with UMNO/BN that they wanted to teach UMNO/BN a lesson and thus voted for PKR. It was the rakyat who determined PKR's fate in GE0308 and similarly, the rakyat can determine PKR's fate in GE13 if PKR don't buck up and change for the better. So all you PKR Aduns out there, take heed to this wake up call and get out of your self denial mode and be pro active to the rakyats' needs.
DSAI, you and the leaders of DAP and PAS must act decisively and come out with a positive change to assure your supporters that PKR is still relevant and to prove the Deputy Prime Minister wrong that PKR will not survive the next GE.

It is better that Pakatan parties clean up their backyard in preparation for the next battle/war now than wait until later.
Many may feel that Pakatan is breaking up and that can happen only if the people stop supporting pakatan parties but that is not the case here. Pakatan is gaining more supporters with what is happenintg in Perak and Penang in particular and no less in Selangor.
In fact, many people have been waiting for this to happen because it is very necessary if Pakatan is to move forward.
What is happening is a blessing in disguise. Pakatan doomsayers are mistakened, if they think Pakatan will disintegrate..

Recognise that the present government is using arrogance and belligerance as their strategic base....

So DSAI, LKS & Hadi, the ball is in your court now. Unless you re-establish cohesiveness and loyalty within the coalition, PKR will be adversely affected come GE13.
Do you leaders not realize the fact that the rakyat who put you in office are getting fed-up with the bickering and power crazy attitude within PKR? These people who gave you the thumbs-up and the votes in GE12 will be the same people who'll not hesitate to thump you come GE13. So put your house in order with immediate effect if PKR wants to remain relevant.

Sapa tak ingat video anwar yg sihat berjalan dlm bilik selepas kes mata hitam beliau, dan utk gimik politik, memakai sarung leher dan menaiki kerusi roda utk warga media. Itulah sandiwara anwar, tokoh shakespeare politik malaysia yg hebat.
