KULIM, Feb 9 — Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he is pleased with the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abduk Razak for an administration that has met the needs of the people and the nation.
“I have met Najib several times since he took over leadership of the country and I am pleased with the way he leads,” he said when speaking at a meet-the-people programme organised by the the Padang Serai Umno division and Yayasan Pembangunan Insan Pulau Pinang at Dewan Utama Politeknik Tuanku yesterday.
Dr Mahathir hopes Najib will continue the tradition of serving the people. He also said he is confident that the internal crises of several Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties will be resolved before the 13th general election.
He said the party leaders are aware that a swift resolution to their problems will ensure a BN win in the general election with a bigger majority.
Dr Mahathir said leaders at loggerheads know they had no choice but to make up. He further said Malaysians should be grateful for the development in various fields the country has achieved since it gained independence 53 years ago, outpacing other countries that became independent at the same time. — Bernama

Of course you are pleased because you are the actual Prime Minister and Najib is your puppet. The saddest thing is under "your rule, a talented and excellent Malay leader in the name of Khairy Jamaluddin will be sacrificed. Is this the way you fight for fellow Malays? You always talk of championing Malays, why are you sacrificing Khairy so deliberately? You are doing all these in your twilight years for your son! We do not appreciate that at all!

Najib have you been waiting for this day for TDM's endorsement and approval of your leadership? If so congratulations to you but then you are not your own man. What you need is approval from the rakyat and not from an ex PM whose reputation and achievements are not unquestionable.

Bernama news, take it with a pinch of salt.
Mahai news, he already approved of najib, so what najib does, he surely must support, otherwise it will be mahai who will lose credibility, and for a man like him, losing is something he can't stomach at all.
MI should put the Bernama logo on top, so that we don't waste time reading the piece. It is an opinion piece, not news, and like all opinion essays, the author must be known at the top of page.
We have better things to do than to get conned by Bernama news.

Mahathir wants all to know how 'powerful and influential he still is ... "I have met Najib several times since he took over leadership of the country....." . See even the ruling PM has to seek his approval. But Mahathir fails to see he is losing the respect of the people fast. His recent utterances reveals his true identity and the emergence of the wealth his family possesses shows the extent of his corruption. The PM and those in Umno may fear him but not the people!

Who cares what M thinks about N. Look at the country's mess all because of M's 22 years reign! No one man should "rule" for such a long period of time. Wish we could have a maximum of 2 terms office for any PM in our country. PM's office is not about monarchy where bloodline matters. Good point. DS Najib is doing a very good job especially in steering our economy in the right direction. However, some of the UMNO leaders still do not get his concept and vision, still living in the past. These are the people that PR members and the rakyat dislike, but the blame is put on BN and Najib.
