JULY 22 — Mahathir has done it again. This time he has chosen an appalling occasion and an awful subject matter.
The hearts of the people are still aching over the death of Teoh Beng Hock. Our society is still in shock and needs to be soothed. Mahathir, however, offered no act of common civility. In any case, we know him well and therefore do not expect it from him.
Even so, as an elder, he should not have sparked off another dispute at such a critical juncture. Another clash that might lead to further suspicion and a widening fissure within the community.
This is the gist of what Mahathir wrote in his blog. The Malays are no longer the owners of Malaysia because they have been very compromising. Therefore, non-Malays, especially those with 4,000 years of history, are slowly taking everything away from the Malays. These non-Malays will become the owners of Malaysia.
These arguments will not be able to withstand any form of close scrutiny. They are not tasteful and are way below par. However, to the close-minded and those of low calibre, such talk might still stir some deep emotion, and strike a very sensitive and vulnerable chord.
There remains a considerable portion of Malaysians with this mindset. They are the targets of Mahathir’s avid adrenaline boosting.
Mahathir emphasises how non-Malays are controlling all industries and commerce, and that they own most of the luxury condominiums.
He also reckons that loosening up the economy and establishing merit-based scholarships have further aggravated the situation for the Malays.
All right, I do not need to quote any further. If my readers are interested, and are not weak of heart, please proceed to Mahathir’s blog for the full story.
Of course, an old dog cannot learn new tricks. It can only repeat the past mischief. But, it repeats them with a vengeance.
Mahathir is now performing a two-pronged comeback. On the one hand, we have the Malays. On the other, we have the non-Malays. The Malays are the oppressed; the non-Malays are the oppressors. The Malays have nothing; the non-Malays have everything.
Therefore, the Malays should fight on. Our country should press on with our differences, until...
Mahathir, enough is enough. The people have been under your delusion for decades. We always say that the British were good at “divide and rule,” but I think you, Sir, are the real master.
The 22 years under Mahathir have resulted in a partitioned and untrusting Malaysian community. All the while, Mahathir was exploiting this antagonism, and reaping the benefits of autocracy.
Even till now, he refuses to give up, and is reforming his old base. We can only guess what his political aims are.
Mahathir, please let the people know that they are all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or skin colour.
The people are the ones who own this country. Do not delude them any longer.
We built the resources and wealth of this country, together. – mysinchew.com

Tun, the Malays control the rights to all the lands and all other natural resources in this country. They control all government institutions, GLC and State owned companies. The Malays dominate the lawmaking process in Malaysia; The Malays control the decision making process in formulating the economy policies. The Malays own the largest national assets and the Malays are given shares in the public listed companies for free. The Malays have also been given all kind of priorities when it comes to buying properties, awarding of public contracts, tertiary education opportunities, awarding of scholarships and even getting a job in government departments. With all these privileges and rights enjoyed by the Malays, you are saying nothing has been done enough to help the Malays to catch up with other races, mainly the Chinese. Then what else should Malaysia do to satisfy the Malays? Did the Chinese seize or rob anything away from the Malays or all their wealth was a result of their hard work? If it is all due to their hard work, why do you say it is unfair? I don't quite get your point here.
May I humbly ask you what do you expect the Chinese to do if your so-called NEP did not achieve the desired result? Would the Malays be happy if the ethnic Chinese in this country do any of the followings:
- surrender their assets and hard earned money to the Malays unconditionally;
- not to engage in any business activities;
- not to score As in all sort of examinations;
- not to make money that is more than the Malays are earning;
- not to advance to higher education; or
- renounce their citizenships and go back to China or migrate to some other countries?
I am a foreigner but I am surprised that your intention is to divide your own country. I think you are mainly targeting the Chinese. Frankly, tell us, what do you expect the Chinese to do in order to achieve what is so called "equality" meant by you?

In case of power crazy there is ample proofs that he does not mind to cut power to the Malays if the Malay concerned go against him. Anwar is a classic example and almost all Anwar's men were sliced to pieces. Similarly if he is so concerned about Malay losing power he would not have stop Kelantan, Kedah and Trengganu from getting extra parliamentary seats. Just because the states concerned are inclined towards the opposition he would not mind depriving them of parliamentary representation even though the real losers are the Malays whom he always claim that he is the champion and protector.

Are the Chinese Malaysians or can the Chinese in Malaysia ever be the 'master' of this land ? Really, can they be the Agong or the Governors of any of the states in Malaysia ? Can they be the PM of Malaysia or the MB's (except for Penang or maybe Sabah perhaps) of any state ? Are they in the majority in Parliament ? Are they now the head of the judiciary, the AG, the military, the police, the civil service, the MACC or the various important and critical ministries or departments in the government - like the PM's Dept, the Treasury, MITI, Foreign Ministry, Home Affairs, the JPA, SPA, Customs, Immigration, etc ?
Are they really in control of the economy ? Who owns the big banks - Maybank, CIMB, RHB, Affin Bank ? Who owns the big buildings in KL - KLCC, PWTC, Telekom Tower and hundreds of others in big and small towns ? Yes the Malaysian chinese community do own some nice big towers and buildings too. But did they rob them from the Malays or ddidthey build them or buy with their hard earned money ? Land - do the Chinese own all or most of the land in Malaysia ? Do a survey to find out how many Chinese are living in TOL lands and do a survey to find out who are those living in Bukit Tunku, Country Heights and Damansara Heights. Factories/industrial concerns - are they all own by the Chinese ? What about foreign concerns ? Are they all stolen or were they built with their entrepreuer efforts ad capital ? Are not these efforts that are helping our economy, bringing in foreigh exchange, boosting our national coffers and providing employment for our people of all races ?
Does this ex-Pm think our present Malay brethens are all blind to this - like those in the 60's where they were manipulated and made use of to acheive his selfish purposes ? Does he still think the same old tricks can be used to frighten the Malays so that he is made to be seen as their protector and saviour ?I think most Malaysians including our Malay brethens have seen through his agenda except some who are brain dead.
Having said that, as a Malaysian, I am not only disgusted, but feel so much ashamed that an ex-Premier, and one who constantly likes to scold other world leaders for some mnisdeanour, is not helpimg the country to enhance unity amongst its people. Instead, he chose to stoop so low in misrepresenting facts that he knows can cause hatred and jealousy amongst his very own people. and which he knows may very well lead to a weakened nation. May I ask, why must the Malays be always made to feel insecured so that they can be used to advance yr personal agenda? Why must the Chinese be made to feel threatened, unappreciated and unwanted so that they be made to leave this country on their own accord ? Whatever yr agenda I hope you will search your conscience if u have one. If u do not, may God save your soul.

I agree to this, I saw it on TV. I don't think Dr. M will ever admit his mistakes during his 22-years as PM, Malaysia today's problems is mostly because of him, it is definitely no Pak Lah. Many of my friends have the same thinking, he is going to mess up Malaysia again.

---------------
It has become crystal clear, Biro Tatanegara was perhaps under Mahathir's direct order to spin hatred against Chinese.
He has grudge towards Chinese
He has grudge towards yang berhormat Tunku Abdul Rahman
He has grudge towards El Gore
He has grudge towards G.W. Bush
He has grudge towards Khairy
He has grudge towards Badawi
He has grudge towards Rafidah
He probably has grudge towards Najib now
(comes to think of it, Mahathir's character of habouring grudge betrays his claiming of being a Malay, doesn't it. I can't recall any genuine Malay that hold up that much of grudge)
Old man, depite all the wealth you possess (from mysterious sources), you are not a happy man. It is now into your dying days, but your heart is still fully infested with grudge.
The grudge you have makes you the most pitiful man, even more pittyful than the man carrying a lady ghost in the heart.

What else do you expect the chinese in Malaysia to do? I know a guy who made a prediction that in time say 20-30 years, the chinese in Malaysia will be the poorest chinese in the world. Why? Look at the other chinese communities who dont face such discrimination. Look at China whose economic prosperity is making even the western powers worry. The chinese elsewhere will prosper because of their hard work (the chinese have other problems but that is not a subject here). His reason - all the chinese who can afford it will migrate from this country. All those who are left will be those not able to study to get qualifications and the lower income group whose children are being denied access to our local universities, financial help etc. etc.

Instead we have all these unemployed local graduates fit only for our bloated the civil service and a whole load of rent seekers fighting among themselves to get on to the NEP gravy train.

The way Tun has played his PLAY-BOOK has created a stagnant in the progress of Malaysia, just to enable more SUPER RICH people for one race. One simple justification is, in 2009 we are still talking about our EDUCATION. 1970 was the day education changed from english medium to bahasa medium. Then 6 years ago, Tun changed again from bahasa medium to english medium. Now changed again from english medium back to bahasa medium in 2012. Anyone thought of who benefited from this change and who are the losers of this education change?

What is P.A. Chew so presumptuous to think I should do his bidding? I chose to respond the lead writer,Tan Tian Yan's sloppy writing. Instead of re-butting me, P.A.Chew chose to issue instructions. Grow up, man. You cannot out-argue me by asking me to argue with somebody else. I am courteous enough to let other commentators have their say, except for P.A. Chew's boorishness. Whose concept of brilliance must be as banal as his debating skill.
