BANGKOK, Oct 28 — Thailand’s Public Health Ministry today warns health stations across the country to closely monitor the situation of the A/H1N1, H5N1 or bird flu, and normal human flu as the winter season approaches, China’s Xinhua news agency reported.
The A/H1N1 influenza has already spread across the country, the forthcoming cooler temperatures in the forthcoming months will also trigger the spread of the the normal human flu, Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai said.
Witthaya was speaking in a central province of Ayudhya near Bangkok, where he presided over a meeting of medical staff from 11 central provinces, in a move to discuss preparations to stop the spread of the influenzas.
Moreover, parties involved will still need to be careful about the H5N1 flu (bird flu) though the disease has not existed in Thailand for over three years, Witthaya said.
The permanent health secretary, Doctor Phaijit Varachit said health volunteers across the country have been instructed to educate people about the three viral diseases.
All hospitals nationwide have to isolate rooms for A/H1N1 and H5N1 patients from the other patients in a bid to prevent the spread of the two diseases within the hospitals,Doctor Phaijit said — Bernama
